Storytelling Workshop on July 28 Presents Native American Author and Performer Tim Tingle

Tim Tingle, author and story teller, will present a workshop in Des Moines on the art of storytelling. “Story: Beginning to End” will guide workshop participants through the process of finding a story, whether it be a personal story or a myth, developing the plot, creating characters, dialogue and jesters. Participants will leave ready to craft and practice a story for audience presentation.

Tim is of Choctaw decent and has written several books on the Native American experience. He is a popular performer for Native American groups, US military personnel, and educational organizations. He has been a featured storyteller at national and international festivals offering tales gathered from personal family history and tribal research. Many of his presentations include traditional drum and flute music as well as narrative in the Choctaw language.

The workshop will be held Monday, July 28th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Loud Room at the Des Moines Playhouse. The cost of the workshop is $20.00 payable at the door. Members of The Two Rivers Story Spinners are free. Membership for Two Rivers Story Spinners is $20.00 a year. Reservations are not required, but an RSVP is appreciated.
