Walk, bike, or drive to Beaverdale Books Sunday, April 19th from 12:00 to 4:00 pm for a book fair to benefit The Ashcraft Library Project/Forever Books For Kids.
Beaverdale Books will donate 20% of their profits for the afternoon to Forever Books For Kids, a statewide literacy project that provides, new and used books for children pre-K through 8th grade to take home without charge when they visit a family member in a county jail. The project, currently in six counties across the state, gives in excess of 5000 books a year at the Polk County Jail.
The donation from Beaverdale Books will be used to purchase new books from that local business.
Storytellers will be on hand to spin a yarn during the afternoon. Cookies and lemonade will also be complimentary.
The Ashcraft Library Project is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supporting Forever Books For Kids, Two For Two, What Did I Do, and The Mitchellville Visiting Moms Program. The Forever Books For Kids program currently serves Pottawattamie, Marshall, Story, Dallas, Polk, and Scott County.
